Roberto Trashorras is one of the last players defined as “finesse stylists”. A year after retiring from soccer, Trashorras is in the other side of the ball, explaining his vision of the beautiful game in front of the TV cameras.

What is the most important value your parents taught you?

Without a doubt, to be humble

Nowadays, who is a referent for you and why?

My referent is Pep Guardiola. I love the way he approaches the sport.

Who is the person who has influenced your life the most and how?

I would not be able to say only one. Many people have helped me throughout the years in both the personal and the sports side of my life. I have to thank many people for many things.

What is your best memory outside the world of sports?

The day my daughters were born

What are the three most important values in sports?

If I would have to say three, I would highlight discipline, commitment and friendship.

What is the most important thing sports have given you?

Sports have allowed me to learn the importance of respecting others

Tell us a pastime not related to soccer

I love playing golf. It is relaxing and it gives you time to think.

What advice would you give to young people who are getting started in sports?

I would tell them to not give up. I think it is important for them to do things with passion. This way sooner or later, results will come.

What do you need to be happy?

I just need my family and people I love to be healthy

How would you like to be remembered?

First, I would like to be remembered as a good person, and then as a good soccer player.

What would you like to tell the world in 140 characters?

Let’s work all together so our children could have a better world.
